Under the direction of Gene Mariano, the Green Clinic Rehabilitation Services Department offers many services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, industrial rehabilitation, and a maintenance program. The staff is dedicated to providing our patients with advanced technology and compassionate, comprehensive treatment. Their goal is to truly make a difference in the lives of their patients, allowing them a better quality of life. Regardless of the challenges, they fight alongside their patients to overcome physical, as well as emotional, hurdles that are negatively affecting their quality of life. Our staff is fully committed to winning the battles.
Physical Therapy services at Green Clinic include the treatment of patients of any age suffering from a wide range of diagnoses. Each therapist is certified, ensuring each patient gets the best care from knowledgable practitioners. Common conditions successfully treated at Green Clinic include chronic headaches, acute and chronic back and neck pains, temperomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), rotator cuff injuries, and both non-operative and post-operative musculo-skeletal conditions. Exercise programs, under the direction of our exercise physiologists, are available in the gym. In addition, Green Clinic offers Massage Therapy. The massage therapist works directly under the supervision of the physical therapists in order to provide pain relief from a wide variety of conditions. Our massage therapist also offers private appointments. Each patient’s needs will be assessed and treated on an individual basis.
Physical therapists evaluate and manage movement dysfunction and enhance physical and functional abilities.
They also restore, maintain, and promote not only optimal physical function but optimal wellness and fitness and optimal quality of life as it relates to movement and health. A therapist may also treat a patient in order to prevent the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries.
This involves the treatment of all conditions which impair an individual’s ability to function or perform purposeful activities (i.e. occupation). Occupational Therapy at Green Clinic focuses on the treatment of injuries of the upper extremities, especially hand and wrist injuries. These types of injuries include anything from carpal tunnel syndrome to crushed hands. Occupational Therapy also provides manual lymph drainage services, utilizing the Leduc method, for people with swollen extremities. The Leduc method is a technique that involves manual lymph drainage in conjunction with a compression device. Patients receiving this treatment typically include those with venous insufficiency, post mastectomy lymphedema, and longstanding wounds. Splinting is also provided and performed when needed.
A licensed occupational therapist is a therapist that treats injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. The practitioners have a holistic perspective, in which the focus is on adapting the environment and/or task to fit the person, and the person is an integral part of the therapy team.
The Green Clinic Rehabilitation Services department is a provider of the WorkWell Systems and serves the community with numerous individualized Return to Work programs as well as the performance of Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)and pre-work screenings. Our certified therapists also perform onsite Functional Job Analyses to provide employers with Functional Job Descriptions. Consistent communication is provided between case managers, doctors, and patients. Ergonomic work site evaluations are also performed as needed, which are beneficial to patients needing adaptations to their work stations to help prevent injury.
A maintenance program is provided for a minimal monthly fee after a patient has successfully completed therapy. This allows them to utilize our facility and maximize their response to treatment as well as keep in contact with our staff. This is a great alternative to abrupt discharge and ensures continual improvement in mobility and health.
